24.1 Abrasive blasting has several Environment, Health & Safety implications and requirements that should be adhered strictly. It should be noted that no open to air blasting shall be carried out under any circumstances and such uncontrolled activities shall irvite serious action from the Authority. All measures shall be taken to protect workers, land and ambient air from any contamination due to this activity.
24.2 Sand or any abrasive blasting media containing more than 1% free silica shall not be used in abrasive blasting operations. All abrasive blasting shall be of recyclable non-metallurgical abrasive material. No open blasting shall be carried out unless approved by TRAKHEES with requisite controls as specified by the Authority.
