16.1 Adequate illumination at the workplace shall be provided to ensure the safe conduct of work.
16.2 Minimum illumination intensities should not be below those specified in Table 3. Further, lights and light fittings should avoid dazzle and glare and be so positioned that they do not cause hazards. Moreover, where persons are particularly exposed to danger, in the event of failure artificial lighting, or emergency lights must be provided.
