With reference to the letter issued by the Ruler's Office regarding the upgraded version of the ID card, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority directs all hotel establishments in the emirate to use the electronic version of the identity card until the printed cards are released. The electronic version is an exact copy of the identity card, which is available through the smart application of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship ICA UAE Smart.
The electronic version can also be used via QR Code scanning technology to enable immediate reading of the card, as it is automatically generated upon entering the customer's document wallet in the smart application.
