The main provisions on wages in the UAE are regulated by the key legislative act in the field of labor law, Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Labor Relations. The following legislative acts supplement the Law:
- Cabinet Decision No. 1 of 2022 on the Implementing Regulation of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021;
- Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2021 on the Unified General Rules of Labor in the United Arab Emirates.
The salary amount must be specified in the employment contract. Also, the salary type must be specified: monthly, weekly, daily, piece wage or hourly wage.
