Dubai Customs has issued the Customs Policy No. 58 of 2024 on "Voluntary Disclosure System".
According to the Policy, a customer can submit an application to Dubai Customs to disclose information on prior unintentional errors or mistakes made while filling out the data in customs declarations.
The Policy stipulates that customs fines can be partially or fully waived for companies if they voluntarily report errors before they are discovered by Dubai Customs.
Voluntary disclosure applies to the following offences:
- import and export violations,
- errors in customs declarations,
- transit violations,
- warehousing violations,
- violations in zones supervised by Customs,
- temporary import violations,
- re-export violations,
- and any other violations of customs regulations.
Voluntary disclosure service is available through the Dubai Customs and Dubai Trade websites. The service is available 24 hours a day and is provided within 2 working days without fees.
