The new Federal Decree-Law No. 37 of 2024 amends certain provisions of Federal Decree-Law No. 32 of 2022 сoncerning the Federal Judicial Authority.
According to Federal Decree-Law No. 37, the President of the Federal Supreme Court and the Federal Attorney General of the UAE enjoy the rank and powers of a minister.
Amendments have been made to the jurisdiction of the Federal Attorney General to supervise offences within his jurisdiction, including offences that affect the interests of the UAE. The workplaces and jurisdictions of public prosecutors shall be determined by a decision of the Federal Attorney General.
Also, the Federal Attorney General now determines the location of the districts under jurisdiction of prosecutors.
