The Minister of Climate Change and Environment,
- After reviewing Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 regarding the competencies of ministries and powers of ministers and its amendments, and
- Federal Law No. 16 of 2007 regarding animal welfare and its amendments,
Has decided:
In implementation of the provisions of these regulations, and unless otherwise required by the context, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto:
The State: United Arab Emirates.
The Law: Federal Law No. 16 of 2007 regarding animal welfare and its amendments.
The Ministry: Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
The Minister: Minister of Climate Change and Environment.
The Competent Department: The competent department in the Ministry.
The Competent Authority: The local authorities concerned with animals' affairs. Veterinarian: The person holding a certified bachelor degree in veterinary medicine and authorized by the Ministry.
