The following words and expressions shall have the meanings indicated opposite them, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Ministry: Ministry of Economy.
Minister: Minister of Economy.
Department: The Department responsible for commercial registration at the Ministry.
Competent Authority: The local authority responsible for company affairs in the emirate concerned, including free zones.
Register: The unified Register of Family companies established in accordance with the provisions of the Decree-Law Concerning Family Business.
