Chairman of the Board of Directors:
- Having reviewed Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 establishing the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology;
- the decisions of the Cabinet and other decisions issued approving the UAE standards for vehicle speed limiters;
- Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) (ECAMER) approved by the Authority’s Board of Directors at its second meeting of 2009;
- Board of Directors of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology Decision at its sixth meeting of 2013 to adopt the Vehicle Speed Limiter Monitoring Programme,
has decided:
1. The Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) for the monitoring of vehicle speed limiters is hereby approved.
2. The relevant authorities shall bring their affairs into compliance and undertake to implement the requirements and provisions of this programme within a period not exceeding 90 days from the date following the publication of this decision in the Official Gazette.
