The Cabinet:
− Having reviewed the Constitution;
− Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, and the laws amending it;
− Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 establishing the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and the laws amending it;
− and with the approval of the Cabinet,
has decided:
1. For the purposes of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings set out opposite each, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: the United Arab Emirates.
Authority: the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA).
Board: the Board of Directors of the Authority.
Director General: The Director General of the Authority.
Competent Authorities: The federal and/or local government Authority in the State responsible for enforcing the provisions of this Regulation and the regulations issued pursuant thereto.
Approved UAE Standard: A document approved by the Council that specifies the characteristics, descriptions, properties, quality levels, dimensions and measurements, or safety ...
