Cabinet Decision No. 39 of 2020 regarding the Mandatory Standard Specifications for Periodic Technical Inspections of Vehicles in the United Arab Emirates

The Cabinet:

- Having reviewed the Constitution;

- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of Ministers and the Powers of Ministries and its amendments;

- Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 regarding the Establishment of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA), and its amendments;

- and with the approval of the Cabinet,

has decided:

Article 1

The technical inspection standards for vehicles, the numbers and titles of which are set out in the table attached to this Decision, shall be mandatory standards applicable in the United Arab Emirates.

Article 2

All relevant authorities in existence at the time this Decision comes into force shall bring their affairs into compliance with its provisions within 180 days of the date of its enforcement.

Article 3

This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and come into force on the day following the date of its publication.
