CONTEXT
As of 29 March 2025, Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 entered into force, significantly strengthening sanctions for serious road traffic violations in the UAE. Fines have increased substantially, criminal liability now applies to a broader range of conduct, and the obligations of all parties at the scene of an accident are strictly defined. In any serious accident, the sequence of actions taken immediately after the incident directly affects both the legal outcome and insurance recovery.
