We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

- Pursuant to the provisions of the Provisional Constitution;

- Federal Law No. 1 of 1971 On the Competencies of Ministries and Powers of the Ministers;

- Federal Law No. 2 of 1971 Concerning the organisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and

- Based on the proposal of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and the approval of the Cabinet and the National Federal Council, and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,

Have issued the following Law:

Article 1-Bis – Definitions

In application of the provisions of the present Law, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise:

State: United Arab Emirates.
