We, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates;
− Upon reviewing the Constitution;
− Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 Concerning the Competences of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, as amended;
− Federal Law No. 43 of 1992 Regulating Punitive Facilities;
− Based on the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the approval of the Cabinet; Have promulgated the following Decree-Law:
In application of the provisions of this Decree-Law, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings assigned to each of them, unless the context otherwise requires:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Ministr: Ministry of Interior.
Minister: Minister of Interior.
Public Prosecution: The Federal Public Prosecution.
Penal and Correctional Institutions: The Ministry's penal and correctional institutions, which are responsible for implementing court judgments and pre-trial detention orders issued by the judicial authority.
