Federal Decree-Law No. 15 of 2023 Amending Certain Provisions of Federal Law No. 6 of 2018 on Arbitration

We, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

- After perusal ofthe Constitution;

- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and the Powers of the Ministers, as amended;

- Federal Law No. 6 of 2018 on Arbitration; and

- Upon the proposal of the Minister of Economy, and approval of the Cabinet, Issue the following Law:

Article One

The provisions of Article 10, Article 23, Article 28 and Article 33 of Federal Law No. 6 of 2018 on Arbitration shall be replaced with the following provisions:

Article 10 — Requirements that must be met by an Arbitrator

1.  In addition to the requirements agreed upon by the Parties, an Arbitrator must:

a. be a natural person who is not a minor, under court's interdiction order or deprived of civil rights by reason of bankruptcy, unless he has been discharged, or due to a felony ormisdemeanor conviction for an offence involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, even if he has been rehabilitated.
