Answer:

Yes, a remote worker based outside the UAE may still be recognized as an employee under UAE labour law if the factual circumstances prove the employment relationship. The absence of a formal contract does not prevent the court from acknowledging employment and awarding end-of-service entitlements, such as gratuity, unused leave, and compensation for arbitrary dismissal, even for remote workers.
