Dubai Regulatory Decision No. 12 of 1998 On the prohibition of cutting or uprooting plants, trees or crops in squares, squares, parks and public facilities in the Emirate of Dubai

We, Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Municipality, After perusal of: 
- The powers legally vested in Us pursuant to the Order Establishing the Dubai Municipality; and 

- The presentation of the Director General of the Dubai Municipality, and 

- In accordance with the exigencies of public interest, Do hereby issue this Decision. 

Article 1 

It is prohibited to cut or uproot, or commit any act that may cause damage to, any plants or trees in public areas, squares, parks, and facilities in the Emirate of Dubai. 

In particular, it is prohibited to cause damage to green landscape areas within public areas, squares, and roads, whether by treading or lying on these areas or committing any act that may impair their aesthetic appearance. 

Article 2 

The inspectors of the Dubai Municipality and police personnel will have the capacity of law enforcement officers to record the acts committed in breach of the provisions of this Decision.
