Having appropriate and adequate infrastructure is critical in port operations and layout of the ports shall be carefully planned out considering all operational and regulatory requirements.
Port operator shall consider the below:
Infrastructure Planning: Developing long-term plans for port facilities and infrastructure improvements.
Maintenance Scheduling: Creating schedules for regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of port infrastructure.
Dredging Management: Ensuring proper dredging to maintain navigational depths in harbor channels and berths.
Terminal Maintenance: Overseeing maintenance of terminals, including quays, berths, and cargo handling equipment.
Crane Maintenance: Managing maintenance and repairs of cranes and other cargo handling machinery.
Navigation Aids: Maintaining navigational aids such as buoys and beacons for safe vessel movement.
