Dubai Law No. 5 of 2024 Repealing Dubai Law No. 4 of 1994 Concerning the Local Penal Code of 1970

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,  

After perusal of:  

- Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021 Issuing the Crime and Punishment Law and its amendments;  

- The Local Penal Code of 1970; and  

- Dubai Law No. 4 of 1994 Concerning the Local Penal Code of 1970,  

Do hereby issue this Law:

Article 1 – Repeal

The above-mentioned Dubai Law No. 4 of 1994 is hereby repealed. 

Article 2 – Continuation in Force of the Local Penal Code

The Local Penal Code of 1970 will continue in force, to the extent that it does not contradict the above-mentioned Federal  Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021, any other superseding legislation, or the legislation in force in the Emirate. 

Article 3 – Publication and Commencement

This Law will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is published.
