have decided the following:
This Law shall be named as the “Law No. 5 of 2001 on the Use of Computers in Criminal Proceedings” .
In criminal proceedings, it is permissible to sign through the use of information and computer technology that verify the identity of the signatory and his acceptance of the content of the data, and confirm the link between the signature and the document to which it is attached.
The Attorney General, in cooperation with the technical experts he deems appropriate, shall issue instructions for the selection of appropriate devices and applications of electronic information programmes and systems and the establishment of sufficient guarantees to preserve the confidentiality of this information.
