Dubai Decree No. 2 of 2006

We, Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, 
After perusal of: 

- Dubai Law No. 1 of 1980 Establishing the Jebel Ali Free Zone; and 

- The Instructions Issued on 7 May 1983 Demarcating the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Do hereby issue this Decree. 

Article 1 — Title of the Decree 

This Decree will be cited as “Decree No. 1 of 1985 Establishing the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority”. 

Article 2 — Definitions 

The following words and expressions will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: 

Ruler:  His Highness the Ruler of Dubai. 

Government:  The Government of Dubai. 

JAFZA:  The Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority.

Port Authority:  The Jebel Ali Port Authority. 

Article 3 — Establishment of JAFZA 

Pursuant to this Decree, a legal entity named the “Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority” is hereby established. JAFZA will be affiliated to the Government and headquartered in the Jebel Ali Port.
