- Having reviewed Federal Law No. 21 of 1995 On Traffic and its Executive Regulations and amendments;
- Dubai Law No. 5 of 1995 Establishing the Department of Finance;
- Dubai Law No. 17 of 2005 Establishing the Roads and Transport Authority and its amendments;
- Dubai Law No. 1 of 2016 On the Financial System of the Government of Dubai;
- Pursuant to the Decree issued by His Highness the Ruler of Dubai on 14 May 1996 Regulating the Licensing of Taxi Vehicles in the Emirate of Dubai
have decided the following:
The following words and expressions, wherever they appear in this Decision, shall have the meanings assigned to them, unless the context requires otherwise:
Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai.
Authority: Roads and Transport Authority.
Director General: Director General of the Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Afterlife Vehicle: A light vehicle designed to transport passengers for a fare set by the Authority.
Licence Plate: The plate issued by the Authority to identify the taxi.
