Having reviewed:
- Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2022 On the Regulation of the Professions of Law and Legal Consultancy;
- Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2022 Issuing the Civil Procedure Law;
- Dubai Decree No. 26 of 2013 Concerning the Rental Disputes Centre in the Emirate of Dubai;
- Dubai Decree No. 28 of 2023 Concerning the Appointment of the Head of the Centre and his Powers;
- For the proper administration of justice and its requirements
the following is hereby decided:
First:
The Centre shall be competent to hear applications and claims submitted regarding the payment of legal fees falling within the competence of the Centre.
Second:
In the event of a contract governing the relationship between the lawyer and the client, the request for fees shall be considered by means of an order on a petition.
Third:
In the absence of a contract governing the relationship between the lawyer and the client, the request for fees shall be considered through a substantive lawsuit.
