The United Arab Emirates is actively developing its economy and strengthening its position as one of the world's centers of innovation and technology. In this regard, regulation of cryptocurrencies is an important aspect to ensure innovative development, investor protection and financial stability. 

 

At the current stage, legislative regulation of cryptocurrency in the UAE is not yet centralized. Depending on the jurisdiction and type of activity, regulation is carried out by various entities within its own jurisdiction over virtual assets. Legislative basis of cryptocurrency regulation

Federal level

- Cabinet Decision No. 111 of 2022 on Regulation of Virtual Assets and their Service Providers contains detailed rules for the regulation of virtual assets (which also include cryptocurrencies) and their service providers.
