All seafarers applying for certificate of competency (COC) or seafarers discharge book (SDB) from the FTA, must be medically fit by providing a medical examination report from FTA recognized medical practitioner list in the attached Annex.

The FTA will issue the medical certificate to the seafarer based on the medical examination results. The examination is based on the IMO guidelines (STCW.7/CIRC.19).

Medical centers and practitioner wishing to be added to the recognized list should apply to the FTA.
