As the ministerial decision number (1) for the year (2018), related to compulsory insurance on the ship-owners liabilities towards the seafarers in UAE, entering in force on 20/02/2018, we are hereby attaching the updated guidelines for implementing the decision, in addition the updated list of the approved insurance providers, the list will be updated periodically on the FTA website: http://fta.gov.ae
Ship's agents must ensure that the ship are complying with this decision before taking over the ship agency, otherwise the agent will be held responsibility towards the crew in case of abandonment.
