Within the regulatory framework of the UAE Federal Maritime Administration (FMA) represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, The FMA has adopted the Resolution MSC.521(106), related to the chapter XV of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS) to make the provisions of the International Code of Safety for Ships Carrying Industrial Personnel (IP Code) []mandatory under the SOLAS Convention.
All addressed entities should fully comply with the requirements of SOLAS Chapter XV and the related International Code of Safety for Ships Carrying Industrial Personnel (IP Code) and provide the FMA with a copy of the procedures and documents required for full compliance with the requirements of the SOLAS Chapter XV and the IP Code upon request. The IP Code will enter into force on 1 July 2024.
