Subject: UAE, Implementation of the Harmonized System of Survey and Certification
Purpose:
The purpose of this Circular is to inform all concerned in maritime sector in UAE that Federal Transport Authority for Land and Maritime (FTA) as a competent authority in UAE the contracting Government to the IMO conventions has submitted to IMO accession documents to 1988 SOLAS and Load Line Protocols and these Protocols will enter into force on 27 December 2017.
Accordingly, all UAE flag ships should comply with the requirements of the Harmonized System of Surveys and Certification (HSSC) that will become effective on 27 December 2017.
