In accordance to FTA monitoring activities on all vessels operating in UAE waters, to enhance safety of navigation and to protect marine environment and to ensure compliance with the UAE enforced laws and regulations, MT Hong Hai 6 (IMO 9643934) Hong Kong flag, has been found carrying out unauthorized bunkering operation by receiving bunker from unlicensed bunkering barge despite knowing that it is illegal operation and without obtaining approval from local authorities. Accordingly, FTA conducted the investigation and decided to take the following actions:
1. Vessel has been banned from anchoring and operating in UAE ports and waters including the exclusive economic zone for six months from the date of this circular.
2. Initiating legal actions against all involved parties in this illegal bunkering operation in accordance with Federal law No. 14 of the year 2017 on Trading of Petroleum Products.(attached)
