The UAE Maritime Administration is in the process of updating their existing list of protection and indemnity clubs issuing the Blue Cards and the seafarers' insurance for UAE Flagged vessels by including the clubs beyond the members of the International Group of Protection and Indemnity Clubs (IG P&I Clubs), provided they meet the following requirements:
1. S&P Global ratings not lower than 'A' rate.
2. Provide list of claims over US$10m or details of 5 largest claims (settled/reserve).
3. Claims settlement authority no less than policy limit offered.
4. Provide evidence of membership under a recognized Maritime related professional Agency or regulatory body.
5. Provide copies of the Certificate of Insurance and approved financial certificates such as Blue Cards and MLC Certificates.
