MOEI Circular No. 08 of 2021 Scrapping and Recycling of Ships in United Arab Emirates

- Ship scrapping & recycling companies in UAE

It is strictly prohibited to scrap, complete or partial dismantling or recycling of any ship in the UAE without Ship Owners / Managers obtaining prior approval from the Federal Maritime Administration (FMA) represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. This is to verify the ship documents and to ensure the safe and environmentally sound operations.

Companies involved in ship scrapping, dismantling, and recycling operations should ensure the FMA approval is granted prior to the commencement of their operations to avoid any legal consequences.
