The Cabinet:
- Having reviewed the Constitution,
- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 On the Competences of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, and its amendments,
- Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 establishing the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and its amendments,
- Federal Law No. 24 of 2006 On Consumer Protection, and its amendments,
- Cabinet Decision No. 31 of 2006 On the National Measurement System,
- And with the approval of the Cabinet,
has decided:
In applying the provisions of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings indicated opposite them, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Authority: The Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.
Board: The Board of Directors of the Authority.
Director General: The Director General of the Authority.
Competent Authority: The federal or local authority in the State responsible for implementing the provisions of this Decision.
Standard: A document that specifies the characteristics, descriptions, properties, quality ...
