- Having reviewed the Constitution;
- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 On the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, as amended;
- Based on the proposal of the Vice Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Chairmanial Court, and with the approval of the Cabinet;

In applying the provisions of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings indicated opposite each of them, unless the context of the text requires otherwise:
State: United Arab Emirates;
Council: Emirates Council for Integrative Medicine;
Chairman: Chairman of the Council;
General Secretariat: General Secretariat of the Council;
Secretary General: Secretary General of the Council;
Modern Medicine: Medical practices characterised by evidence-based approaches and treatments and the diagnosis and treatment of diseases through scientifically tested methods, relying heavily on clinical research, technological advances, and standardised education and training for healthcare professionals;
