Article 1 - Introduction

The General Administration of Customs is pleased to welcome all passengers to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; and in line with its commitment to the vision and mission of the organization, it is keen to provide excellent services and facilities to passengers. Abu Dhabi Customs exerts all efforts to process all customs transactions in a speedy and highly efficient manner through the various customs centers.

 

Article 2 - Permitted and Duty-Exempted Items

The following items carried by passengers are exempted from customs duties and Taxes (VAT, Excise).

1. Gifts whose customs value does not exceed AED 3000

2. A total number of 400 cigarettes, or 50 cigars. Excess quantities shall be dutiable as prescribed.

3. A total amount of 500 grams of tobacco (minced or pressed for pipes) or minced/pressed tobacco for smoking, tumbak (pure tobacco) or water pipe tobacco. Excess quantities shall be dutiable as prescribed.

4. The amount of alcoholic beverage shall not exceed 4 liters or 2 cartons of beer, each consisting of 24 cans not exceeding 355 ml for each can.
