The purpose of this guideline is to indicate the conditions and requirements that must be met and observed by the owners of cafes / restaurants and cafes / hotels and shopping centers, and engineering consulting companies related to obtaining an annual permit and renewing the permit for designated smoking areas, and to explain how to prepare the engineering drawings for designated smoking areas, which are submitted when requesting a permit. It also states the conditions and requirements that must be met and observed by the owners of cafes, restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and public buildings to regulate smoking in outdoor and public places.
It applies to all cafes/ restaurants and cafes / hotels / shopping centers and other buildings located within the geographical borders of the Emirate of Dubai.
The service is provided by Dubai Municipality – Health and Safety Department, where the safety engineer is responsible for reviewing the fulfillment of applications and issuing permits.
