Cabinet Decision No. 14 of 2008 Regarding the determination of the amount of social assistance

Article 1

The minimum social assistance decided for any person, with the exception of those classified as financially disadvantaged in accordance with the provisions of Federal Decree-Law No. (2) of 2001 on social security, shall be (4,400) four thousand four hundred dirhams per month for a single beneficiary.

If the beneficiary is the head of a household, this assistance is calculated as follows:—

1. (4,400) four thousand four hundred dirhams per month for the head of the household.
2. (2,600) two thousand six hundred dirhams per month for the second person in the household.
3. (1,300) thousand and three hundred dirhams per month for each member of the family from the third person onwards, with no upper limit on the number of family members.

Article 2

If the household consists of a single person living alone in separate accommodation and is entirely dependent on social assistance, an allowance of (1,300) thousand and three hundred dirhams, in accordance with the provisions of Article (5) of Federal Decree-Law No. (2) of 2001 referred to above.
