We, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates
- Having reviewed the Constitution;
- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of Ministers and the Powers of Ministries and Ministers, as amended;
- based on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, with the approval of the Cabinet, and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council;
have hereby decreed the following:
Approval is hereby granted for the accession of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations Convention on International Mediation Agreements, the text of which is attached, subject to the reservation that the Convention shall not apply to any settlement agreements to which the State, any government entity, or any person acting or operating within the State is a party to the Convention. The Convention shall apply only to the extent agreed upon by the parties to the settlement agreement, in accordance with paragraphs (a) and (b) of Clause (1) of Article 8 of the Convention.
