Dubai Administrative Decision No. 28 of 2026 Approving the Classification System for Sporting Events

Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council

- Having reviewed Dubai Law No. 11 of 2009 concerning the Dubai Sports Council and its amendments, hereinafter referred to as “the Council”;

- Dubai Decree No. 1 of 2020 regarding the Subjection of Government Sports Institutions to the Supervision of the Dubai Sports Council;

- Dubai Executive Council Decision No. 1 of 2020 regarding the Regulation of Sports Institutions and Events in the Emirate of Dubai,

have decided as follows:

Article 1 – Adoption of the System

The sixth edition of the “Sports Events Classification System”, published on the Council’s website, is hereby approved, including the categories and technical criteria it contains. 

Article 2 – Review and Update of the System

The Events Department shall periodically review and update the system referred to in Article 1 of this Decision, and such updates shall be published on the Council’s website.

Article 3 – Application of the System

All organisers of sporting events held in the Emirate of Dubai shall be required to comply with the regulations approved by this Decision ...
