The Cabinet
- Having regard to the Constitution,
- and Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, as amended;
- Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 on the Establishment of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and its amendments;
- Cabinet Decision No. 1 of 2017 regarding the Application of Mandatory Standards in the United Arab Emirates;
- and with the approval of the Cabinet,
has decided:
The five (5) standard specifications relating to the food sector, the numbers and titles of which are set out in the table attached to this Decision, shall be mandatory standard specifications applicable in the United Arab Emirates.
All relevant entities existing at the time this Decision comes into force shall bring their affairs into compliance with its provisions within 180 days of the date of its entry into force.
This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force on the day following the date of its publication.
