- Having reviewed the Constitution;
- Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers Ministers, and its amendments;
- Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2020 on Standards and Metrology;
- Cabinet Decision No. 60 of 2019 Regarding the Mandatory Standard Specification for Food Additives in the United Arab Emirates,
- and based on the proposal of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and with the approval of the Cabinet
has hereby decided:
The UAE Technical Regulation, the number and title of which are set out in the table attached to this Decision, is hereby amended to prohibit the use of the substance ‘titanium dioxide’ (E171) as a food additive.
This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and come into force on the day following the date of its publication.
