Subject: Dormant Accounts and Unclaimed Funds Regulation
The Central Bank of the U.A.E. has amended the Dormant Accounts Regulation to widen the scope of application. This Regulation replaces the existing Dormant Accounts Regulation and is issued pursuant the powers of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 6 of 2025 Regarding the Central Bank, Regulation of Financial Institutions and Activities, and Insurance Business.
This Regulation applies to all Licensed Financial Institutions (LFIs) as defined in Article 1 of this Regulation. Where this Regulation includes requirements to provide information, to take certain measures or to address certain items listed as a minimum, the Central Bank may impose requirements that are additional to the listing provided in the relevant Articles.
