In line with the regulatory role of the Emirates Media Council and its remit, the Council has taken care to define the principles, frameworks and standards governing the process of issuing filming permits in the State, based on the laws and regulations issued in this regard, as filming is one of the most important activities carried out by persons and organisations on a regular basis for personal, professional (commercial) purposes. Having reviewed the latest international standards applicable in this regard, the Council is pleased to present the first edition of the Guide to the Issuance of Filming Permits, which sheds light on the nature of filming permits and the laws and regulations governing them, as well as their types, conditions, fees and all related matters.
The aim of publishing this guide is to establish a general policy to regulate the process of issuing filming permits in the State, recognising the film industry as a dynamic sector that contributes to driving economic development in the State.
