Within the regulatory framework of the UAE Federal Maritime Administration (FMA) represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, The FMA has adopted the Resolution MSC.548(107) related to the International Code of Safety for Diving Operations, (2023 Diving Code), as attached to this circular.
The FMA will implement the International Code of Safety for Diving Operations, (2023 Diving Code) as the recognized international provisions for the design, construction and survey of diving systems, diving units and hyperbaric evacuation systems. The 2023 Diving Code should be applied to all ships that have a diving system installed on or after 1 January 2024.
All addressed entities should fully comply with the requirements of the International Code of Safety for Diving Operations and provide the FMA with a copy of the procedures and documents required for full compliance with the requirements of the Code upon request.
