Having examined Federal Decree-Law No. (1) of 1972 concerning the remit of Ministries and the powers of Ministers, and its amendments, and Federal Decree-Law No. (10) of 2015 on food safety and its Executive regulations, and Federal Decree-Law No. (5) of 1979 concerning agricultural quarantine and its amendments, and Federal Decree-Law No. (6) of 1979 concerning veterinary quarantine and its amendments, In accordance with the recommendations of the Food Safety Committee and the requirements of the public interest,
Has decided:
Establishment of a system known as the “National Rapid Alert System for Food” which includes response procedures relating to risks affecting food safety, mechanisms for managing food notifications, and procedures relating to the imposition and lifting of bans on food that is harmful to health, adulterated, misleading to consumers, or in breach of technical regulations.
The National Food Rapid Alert System annexed to this Decision shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions set out therein.
