Ministerial Decision No. 98 of 2019 On the use of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) in cement plants

Having regard to Federal Decree-Law No. (1) of 1972 on the competences of Ministries and the powers of Ministers, as amended; Federal Decree-Law No. (24) of 1999 on environmental protection and development, as amended; and its Executive regulations; Federal Decree-Law No. (12) of 2018 on integrated waste management; and The Cabinet Decision No. (32) of 2017 concerning the organisational structure of the Ministry.

Objective

The purpose of this decision is to:

• The use of alternative fuel produced from municipal solid waste treatment processes as an alternative for energy generation.
• To support industries and initiatives aimed at managing the municipal solid waste generated in the State and utilising it to produce goods that contribute to the national economy.
• Protection of the environment, human health and sustainable development.
