Fujairah Circular No. 5 of 2016 Regarding the requirements for the packaging, storage, transport, display and distribution of energy drinks

1. Having examined Law No. (1) of 1969 concerning the establishment of the Municipality of Fujairah.
2. Having examined Federal Law No. (24) of 2006 on consumer protection.
3. Having reviewed the technical regulations relating to the ‘Emirati Standard Specifications for Energy Drinks’ issued by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, with regard to packaging, storage, transport, display and distribution. The following requirements apply to the packaging of energy drinks:

1. The product must be packaged in hygienic, suitable, dry, defect-free and airtight containers that preserve the product’s properties, protect it from spoilage and contamination, and comply with standard specifications.
2. The product must be stored away from moisture, direct sunlight, sources of contamination and unwanted odours.
